MyChoreBoard focuses on chores, routines, points, and rewards instead of becoming another crowded family dashboard.
It started with a common family problem
MyChoreBoard did not begin as an attempt to build every possible family organization tool. It began with a practical need: make everyday routines easier for children to understand and easier for parents to manage.
Many families know the pattern. Children are capable of taking on more responsibility, but parents still carry the mental checklist, repeat the same reminders, and step in when a task is forgotten. Even simple routines can create unnecessary friction when expectations are not visible or consistent.
MyChoreBoard was created to make those expectations clearer and give children a straightforward way to see what needs to happen next.
Traditional chore systems do not always last
Paper chore charts, whiteboards, sticker systems, and visual routine boards can work well, but they often become outdated or fade into the background. Updating them can take time, and they may not work as well when schedules change or a family uses several devices or locations.
Many digital alternatives introduce a different problem. Some place basic functionality behind a subscription, become cumbersome to maintain, or add so much gamification that the virtual experience distracts from the real-world habit.
MyChoreBoard takes a calmer approach: motivating without being distracting, flexible without being complicated, and practical enough to use on a busy day.
The goal is fewer reminders and more ownership
MyChoreBoard gives each child a clear visual list organized around the family’s routine. Children can see what comes next, complete tasks, earn points when appropriate, and work toward rewards selected by their family. Parents can update routines from a phone, tablet, or computer without recreating a physical chart or repeating the same instructions.
The purpose is not to create a perfectly controlled household. It is to help children gradually build consistency, independence, and confidence while reducing some of the daily friction and mental load for parents.
Made for different ages, learners, and households
Every family approaches chores differently. Some use points and rewards. Some connect chores to allowance. Others treat most responsibilities as an expected part of family life and use rewards only for extra jobs.
MyChoreBoard is designed to support those differences. Parents can customize tasks, schedules, points, rewards, devices, and routines rather than being forced into one system. Large icons can help younger children and non-readers. Focus Mode and visual time-of-day sections can make long lists feel more manageable. Older children can use the same system for more independent routines, allowance, and larger goals.
Feedback from families has also helped improve support for children with ADHD and other neurodivergent learners. That input continues to influence flexible display options and a growing library of free articles about routines, motivation, positive reinforcement, and reducing overwhelm.
